In this talk, I will introduce my research on the red subdwarfs, i.e. metal-poor Very Low Mass stars. This is one of the oldest stellar populations with a lifetime longer than the Hubble time. The subdwarfs are quite rare in the solar neighborhood and their kinematic properties are found to be associated with thick disk and halo. My talk will mostly be focused on sample search, spectral classification, atmospheric parameter estimation, and kinematics. Time allowing I will present the prospects for moving forward.
